Tips to save drips: learn about water conservation by making a poster and a water diary

Water is precious, and it’s important that we don’t waste it. We should conserve it to protect nature and the animals that rely on it to survive. Saving water also helps us to use less energy, which is needed for cleaning, heating and pumping water into our homes.

Conserving water can start with simple steps at home. Turn off the tap when you brush your teeth and put soap on your hands. Also, take shorter showers instead of baths, which use more than double the amount of water that showers use.

Another way to use less water is by fixing leaks. If you see a leaky tap, tell an adult right away, so that they can fix it.

You can also collect rainwater to water your plants by placing buckets outside when it rains. You can also save the water from washing your rice – which has lots of nutrients – to feed your plants.
